Inspirational Women Series: Ann Sherry
Ann is the Executive Chairman of Carnival Australia, the largest cruise ship operator in Australasia and was previously the CEO of Westpac New Zealand and CEO of Bank of Melbourne.
In addition to her executive role, Ann holds a number of non-executive roles including Sydney Airport, ING Direct (Australia), ING Group, The Palladium Group, Australian Rugby Union, Cape York Partnerships, Infrastructure Victoria and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
In 2001, Ann was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Australian Government and in 2004 was awarded an Order of Australia for her contribution to the Australian community. In 2015, Ann was named as the overall winner of the Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Award.
An inspiration to many, Ann has been instrumental in paving the way for women in executive roles and continues to fight the good fight for gender equity.
For me personally, it has been an absolute honour to have the opportunity to interview Ann over the years during my time in the media, work alongside Ann during my time with P&O and then, as I launched Biz Gals, to have Ann generously grace our stage as part of the Inspire Series and offer up her time, wisdom and advice so openly to myself and those Biz Gals at the event.
This video gives you an insight into the phenomenal woman and leader that Ann Sherry is.
